About Us

Nepal Fisheries Association is a national-level organization dedicated to the development and promotion of the fisheries sector in Nepal. Established to unite fish farmers, hatchery operators, traders, and experts, the association works to ensure sustainable fish farming practices, improve livelihoods, and advocate for policies that support the growth of aquaculture.

With a strong network across all provinces, we provide training, technical support, and market linkage opportunities to our members. Our mission is to enhance productivity, ensure environmental sustainability, and make Nepal self-reliant in fish production.

The association strives to represent the collective voice of stakeholders, advocate for supportive policies, and provide continuous training and innovation in fish farming across Nepal.

Nepal Fisheries Association envisions a prosperous and self-reliant Nepal where fisheries become a vital pillar of the national economy, contributing to employment, nutrition, and rural development. We aim to build a strong, organized, and eco-friendly fisheries industry that is competitive both nationally and internationally.

Objectives

The primary objectives of Nepal Fisheries Association are to uplift the socio-economic status of fish farmers, promote modern and scientific fish farming techniques, and facilitate coordination among government agencies, development partners, and the private sector. Additionally, the association seeks to expand market access, ensure fair pricing, and raise awareness about the importance of fisheries in Nepal’s development.
